Washington State Department of Transportation Traffic Advisory
Late-night and early-morning drivers should expect delays and allow extra time for their trips on northbound I-5 in south Seattle this week.
Crews will close four northbound lanes at S. Holgate St. Monday, March 28, while they remove and replace electronic message signs. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., with four left lanes closed by 12:30 a.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Drivers should plan for additional closures Tuesday through Thursday when crews will close the two right lanes of northbound I-5 each night while they install a catwalk. The first lane will close at 9 p.m. and the second at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. the following morning.
This work is part of the I-5 Variable Message Sign replacement project. In addition to the south Seattle sign, crews will also replace a sign on southbound I-5 near I-405 in Lynnwood and on southbound I-5 at Interurban Avenue in Tukwila.
