During the next two weekends, Seattle Department of Transportation crews will remove the kiosk now located on Fifth Avenue just south of Union Street, restore the sidewalk with pavers, and replace the small traffic signal controller box.
On Sunday, March 27 crews will perform preliminary work from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. They will close up to two lanes on Fifth Avenue for this work.
Crews will return on Saturday, April 2 when they will remove the kiosk using a crane, restore the sidewalk, and install a traffic signal controller box. Up to two lanes will be closed on Fifth Avenue between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Pedestrians will be routed around the work area.
This work was requested by the community and is funded by the Neighborhood Projects Fund.
