Crews from Seattle Public Utilities and a contractor have been relocating waterline mains at both ends of the Airport Way South Viaduct Bridge as preliminary work for the bridge rehabilitation project.
Crews this week began work on the approach to the south end of the bridge, around S. Lucile Street and Airport Way S. This work requires one-lane closures and is expected to continue on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until the weekend of April 2nd . The work will be done by SPU crews.
At the same time, work continues on the approach at the north end of the bridge, centered around the intersection of Summerville Place and Airport Way S. One lane northbound (far right lane) will continue to be closed at night from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. The waterline relocation at this site is expected to be completed by Saturday, March 26th. This work will be done by a contractor.
