Seattle Parks and Recreation will close Seaview Place NW for a second day to continue emergency repairs to the road. The road will be closed to all traffic from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, December 17.
Seaview Place NW will be closed at the intersection of Seaview Avenue NW, and the lower portion of Golden Gardens Drive NW between Seaview Place NW and the parking lot of the Golden Gardens Dog Off-Leash Area, 8498 Seaview Place NW (see attached map).
During the closure, Golden Gardens Park will be accessible from Seaview Avenue NW. The dog off-leash area on Golden Gardens Drive will be accessible only from the north via Golden Gardens Drive NW.
While making repairs to the adjacent ditch, the Park Engineer discovered additional cracking in the roadway itself caused by the overly saturated soil under the road. Crews have sealed many of the cracks and will continue to seal them tomorrow; however a portion of the roadway will require more extensive repairs. After crews complete work on Friday, the road will be reopened with flashing barriers installed along Golden Gardens Drive NW as needed. This will keep vehicles off the vulnerable portion of the road.
After the New Year, the lower portion of Golden Gardens Drive NW may need to be closed for up to two weeks while crews demolish and rebuild the road.
