A contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will be rebuilding the block of Airport Way South between Sixth Avenue South and South Dearborn Street this weekend, weather permitting. The intersection of Airport Way South and Sixth Ave South will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday, October 29 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 31. Traffic detours and restrictions are as follows:
Airport Way South
Northbound closed at Sixth Avenue South: 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday
Southbound closed at South Dearborn Street: 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday
Sixth Avenue South
Closed at Airport Way South: 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Sunday
Local access maintained
South Plummer Street
Closed at Airport Way South to westbound motorists
Local access off of Seventh Avenue South
The detour for vehicles heading north on Airport Way South is South Royal Brougham Way to 4th Avenue South to get back to Airport Way South. Motorists heading south will be directed onto South Dearborn Street to Maynard Avenue South to get back to Airport Way South.
Detour routes will be clearly posted. Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving.
Pedestrian access to all businesses and residences will be maintained.
