The Seattle Department of Transportation and its contractor plan to remove pavement on Saturday, October 23 on Airport Way South between Sixth Avenue South and South Dearborn Street, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting.
One southbound lane will remain open on Airport Way South from South Dearborn Street to South Royal Brougham. The northbound lanes of Airport Way South will be closed at Sixth Avenue South with a detour to Sixth Avenue South, to Dearborn Street, and then back to Airport Way South.
One northbound lane will remain open on Sixth Avenue South between Royal Brougham South and Airport Way South. Southbound traffic will not be affected.
South Charles Street between Maynard Avenue South and Airport Way South will be closed starting Friday, Oct 22 at 6 a.m. until November 5. Local access maintained
Detour routes will be clearly posted. Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving.
Pedestrian access to all businesses and residences will be maintained.
The Seattle Department of Transportation is improving Airport Way South from Royal Brougham Way South to South Dearborn Street. This project is funded by the “Bridging the Gap” transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
