On October 19 and 20, SDOT and its contractor will pave South Columbian Way between Beacon Avenue South and 15th Avenue South. The crews plan to work from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Eastbound South Columbian Way will be closed to traffic at 15th Avenue South at 6 p.m. A signed detour will direct drivers to South Spokane Street, then to Beacon Avenue South, and back to South Columbian Way. A westbound lane of traffic will remain open on South Columbian Way during paving.
• South Snoqualmie Street will be closed to through traffic at South Columbian Way.
• South Angeline Street will be closed to traffic at South Columbian Way.
Access to the Veterans Hospital and Puget Sound Health Care System from South Columbian Way will be maintained until 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. drivers will need to utilize the entrance off of Beacon Avenue South.
Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving. Please note this work is weather dependent.
This project is funded by the “Bridging the Gap” transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
