The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will be working at two locations on Airport Way South this weekend, weather permitting.
Airport Way South from Royal Brougham Way to S Plummer Street will be closed to northbound traffic from 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct 15 until Sunday evening, Oct 17. Vehicles headed north on Airport Way S will not be able to use 7th Ave and will instead be directed to turn left onto Royal Brougham Way, to continue to Airport Way. During this closure, SDOT’s contractor will rebuild the intersection of Royal Brougham Way and Seventh Avenue South.
Airport Way South will be closed in both directions between Sixth Avenue South and South Dearborn Street on Saturday, Oct 16, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Northbound traffic will be detoured to Sixth Avenue South, and southbound traffic will be detoured at Dearborn Street to Maynard Avenue South, returning to Airport Way South. SDOT’s contractor will install new drains at this location.
Access to all businesses will be maintained. Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving.
The street and sidewalk improvements that SDOT is making along Airport Way South between South Royal Brougham Way and South Dearborn Street are part of its annual paving program. This project is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation levy approved by Seattle voters.
