Traffic Reduced to One Lane in Each Direction on Rainier Avenue S Approaching S Frontenac
Starting this week as early as Thursday, October 14, there will be partial traffic lane closures and parking restrictions on Rainier Avenue S and S Frontenac Street as construction crews make improvements to the sidewalks and street pavement near the southwest and northeast corners. The work is expected to take approximately seven to eight weeks to complete. Lane closures and parking restrictions will be in place around-the-clock throughout the work. Access will be maintained to businesses.
Specific Traffic Restrictions on Rainier Avenue S:
Southbound curb lane closed north and south of S Frontenac Street on Rainier Avenue S
Northbound curb lane closed north and south of S Frontenac Street on Rainier Avenue S
Parking restricted on S Frontenac Street east and west of Rainier Avenue S
This work is part of a larger project where the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is constructing street and sidewalk improvements for Bus Route # 7 along S Jackson Street and Rainier Avenue S. The improvements will enhance the waiting area for bus passengers and improve travel time for buses.
Local businesses are open during construction and SDOT is encouraging the community to stop and shop.
