Crews working for SDOT will be installing a permanent railing on the NE 45th Street Viaduct next week as part of the West Approach Replacement Project. On Tuesday, October 12, and Wednesday, October 13, crews will be working on the south side of the viaduct, which should not impact traffic. On Thursday, October 14, and Friday, October 15, crews will switch to the north side of the viaduct which will require the closure of one northbound (uphill) lane. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained during this work.
The NE 45th Street Viaduct reopened to traffic on September 10, 2010. Crews will be completing final wrap-up work on and around the structure until the end of October. To view pictures of the construction, please visit the project Web site at: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/45th-bridge.htm
