A rally at the Federal Building is now planned for tomorrow, Saturday, October 2, in downtown Seattle. Due to multiple events, drivers are advised to plan ahead for congestion and are encouraged to use alternate modes of transportation.
The American Heart Association Walk will start at 9 a.m. at the Seattle Center and will extend south to Spring Street. A total of 8,100 participants are expected.
A “One Nation Working Together” Rally is planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building on Second Avenue between Madison and Marion streets. The Toronto FC vs. Sounders game begins at 12:30 p.m. at Qwest Field. Attendance is estimated at 34,000 people.
The Seattle Mariners play against the Oakland A’s at 7:10 p.m. at Safeco Field. They are expecting 18,000 spectators.
The Seattle Department of Transportation reminds motorists to help reduce traffic congestion and pollution by taking one of the many alternate modes of transportation available – Metro Transit, the Seattle Streetcar, the Sounder commuter train, ST Express Regional Bus, Link light rail, car pool, bicycle or walk, if feasible.
