The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) and its contractor will work this weekend, September 18 and 19, on the 10th Avenue E street improvement project. Crews will build a concrete lane on the east side of 10th from the E Miller Street intersection to E Boston Street.
Crews will start at 7 a.m. Saturday. At 8 a.m. crews will start breaking concrete and removing the existing pavement. The contractor anticipates substantially completing this work by Sunday evening.
10th Avenue E will be closed to northbound traffic except for transit from E Boston Street to E Roanoke Street. The southbound lane will remain open.
A substantial detour will be in place for northbound traffic. Vehicles will be detoured at the north end of the Broadway commercial district and directed to use E Roy Street to Belmont Avenue E to Lakeview Blvd E to Boylston Avenue E to E Roanoke Street.
E Miller Street and E Lynn Street will be closed at 10th Avenue E. Eastbound traffic on Miller and Lynn streets will be required to turn right (south) at 10th Avenue E. There will be local access only on Miller and Lynn streets between 10th Avenue E and Federal Avenue E.
Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving. Pedestrian access to all businesses and residences will be maintained.
