Street improvement construction on 10th Avenue E will continue this weekend, September 11 and 12.
The contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will build a concrete lane on the east side on 10th Avenue E from the SR 520 overpass to E Miller Street, and a concrete lane in the center of 10th from E Lynn to E Boston streets. Crews will start at 7 a.m. on Saturday and at 8 a.m. will start breaking and removing the existing concrete pavement. The contractor anticipates substantially completing the work by Sunday evening.
10th Avenue E will be closed to northbound traffic, except for transit, from E Boston Street to E Roanoke Street. One southbound lane will remain open. A substantial detour will be in place: vehicles heading north will be detoured at the north end of the Broadway commercial district and directed to use E Roy Street to Belmont Avenue E to Lakeview Blvd E to Boylston Avenue E to E Roanoke Street.
E Boston Street will be closed to through traffic at 10th Avenue E. Westbound traffic on Boston will be required to turn left (south) at 10th. Boston Street from Broadway to 10th will be open only to vehicles with destinations within that block.
Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving. Pedestrian and local vehicle access will be maintained.
