Today, Tuesday, September 7, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will restore the sidewalk on Beacon Avenue and S Forest Street where flashing lights have been installed in the cross walk. In order to do the work, SDOT will close the curb lanes on both the north and south sides of the street. The sidewalk between S Forest and S McClellan streets will remain open during the work. The work is expected to be completed within two to three days.
Also today, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., SDOT crews will install a new curb ramp and sidewalk at 23rd Avenue S and S Plum Street. During the work, the sidewalk will be closed and S Plum Street at 23rd will be closed to through traffic except for Metro buses. The curb lane on 23 Avenue S northbound between S Plum Street and S Hill Street will remain open to traffic.
