After months of intensive work, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will officially reopen the NE 45th Street Viaduct on September 10. Replacement work on the 468-foot west approach is wrapping up and the new structure will open to all traffic, pedestrians and bicycles as of next Friday morning.
The public is invited to join SDOT at a ceremony to officially reopen the viaduct. Come help us celebrate and:
-Hear from the project team and city staff who helped make this project happen; and
-Shake hands with the contractor who completed the project on schedule and in time for the first home Huskies football game!
The reopening event will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010, from 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the top of the hill near 22nd Avenue NE & NE 45th Street. The roadway will permanently reopen to traffic following the event.
