The last three-day weekend of summer will bring crowds in the thousands to Mariner games at Safeco Field and the 40th Annual Bumbershoot Festival at the Seattle Center. While bumbershoot is another name for umbrella, this one is not intended for rain, but rather refers to the wide range of arts and performers that it covers – truly something for everyone.
The Seattle Department of Transportation encourages motorists heading out for weekend fun to consider taking alternate modes of transportation – Metro Transit, the Sounder commuter train, Link light rail, car pool, bicycle or walk, if feasible.
