The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is reconstructing a section of 10th Avenue East in the North Broadway/Capitol Hill neighborhood.
This weekend the contractor will build a concrete lane on 10th Avenue E between the State Route 520 overpass and E Lynn Street. Crews will start at 7 a.m. on Saturday and anticipate completing the job by Sunday evening.
10th Avenue East will be closed to northbound traffic from East Boston Street to East Roanoke Street, except for transit. One southbound lane will remain open. A substantial detour will be in place for northbound traffic. Vehicles will be detoured from Broadway Avenue E onto E Roy Street, then to Belmont Avenue E, to Lakeview Boulevard E, to Boylston Avenue E, and to E Roanoke Street, back to 10th Avenue E.
East Miller and East Lynn streets will be closed to through traffic from Broadway to Federal avenues. Westbound traffic on Miller and on Lynn will be required to turn left (south) at 10th Avenue E. Miller and Lynn will be open to local access traffic only between 10th and Broadway avenues.
Detour routes will be clearly posted. Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving. Pedestrian access to all businesses and residences will be maintained. Local vehicle access will be maintained.
