Sound Transit has announced traffic information for its jet grounting activities in Pine Street.
The following activities will begin on Monday, August 9:
Temporary closure of Pine Street’s eastbound lane between 9th and Boren avenues
Two lanes of westbound traffic will remain open
Detour for eastbound Pine Street:
• Motorists traveling eastbound on Pine Street will be detoured right onto 9th Ave
• Left onto Pike Street
• Left onto Boren Ave to return to Pine Street
Recommended bicycle detour:
Bicycles will also follow the same detour to Pike Street. “Bike Route to Capitol Hill” signage will be in placed along the detour to direct cyclists to the Capitol Hill and the Pike/Pine Neighborhoods. If cyclists wish to continue on Pike Street, there will be on-street parking restrictions on the south-side of Pike Street between Minor/Melrose avenues and Crawford Place. These safety precautions are needed as detoured cyclists will have to contend with a steep hill and eastbound Pike Street motorists.
