The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has arranged to have a herd of 60 goats clear overgrowth from the slope on both sides of the Pine Street Hill Climb off of Alaskan Way near the Pike Place Market. The fence to contain the goats will be set up tomorrow, July 23, and the goats will begin their work on Monday, July 26. The work is expected to take five days. The Pine Street Hill Climb stairway will be closed during this operation.
The goats will be able to reach areas that are too steep for SDOT crews or equipment to safety access.
The service will be provided by Rent a Ruminant, http://www.rentaruminant.com
