A contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will begin construction July 26th on three of five spot rehabilitation projects added to the 2010 paving program. The three added projects are 10th Avenue E from E Boston Street to E Miller Street (SR520 overpass); 16th Avenue SW from SW Brandon Street to SW Dawson Street; and Nickerson Street from Etruria Street to Dexter Avenue North. When the crew is finished at Nickerson Street they will move on to 15th Avenue South from South McClellan Street to Beacon Avenue South and then to Cherry Street from 1st Avenue to 3rd Avenue.
• 10th Avenue E – Work in the North Broadway/Capitol Hill neighborhood requires temporary closure of bicycle lanes; two-way travel will be maintained during construction with cyclists and vehicles sharing travel lanes.
• 16th Avenue SW – Construction work will require northbound traffic to be detoured.
• Nickerson Street – In addition to the repaving work, new channelization (lane striping and other pavement markings) will be installed on Nickerson Street between 13th Avenue W and Etruria Street.

The spot rehabilitation paving projects are funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in 2006.
Note: As previously announced, SDOT crews are paving Pine Street from 13th to 15th avenues on July 17 and 18, and are paving 12th Avenue from East Pike Street to East Madison Street on July 20 and 21.
