Seattle Department of Transportation’s Fourth Avenue repaving project is substantially complete. During the next two weeks, construction crews will complete minor street and sidewalk repairs and cleanup work on Fourth and Second avenues as they wrap up the project.
The contractor will begin replacing several concrete road panels on the Second Avenue Extension tomorrow (Friday, June 18) after the morning peak traffic period. Traffic will be reduced to two lanes, so drivers should expect congestion during Friday’s afternoon peak period.
Panel replacement work on Fourth Avenue just north of Jackson Street will be done on Saturday (June 19) and two lanes will remain open at that location until Sunday evening, after the newly poured concrete has hardened.
By Sunday evening, lanes in both work areas will be fully open to traffic.
