The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is improving Virginia Street in downtown Seattle. Two blocks of Virginia Street and two blocks of Fourth Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Friday night, June 18 to Monday morning, June 21 while the contractor replaces concrete pavement.
Virginia Street will be closed from Third to Fifth avenues, and Fourth Avenue will be closed from Stewart to Lenora streets, from 7 p.m. on Friday until Monday at 4 a.m. Detour routes will be posted and Police Officers will be on site to keep traffic moving. Pedestrian access and access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
This project is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation initiative approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
