During the week of June 7th, SDOT and its contractor will repave Airport Way S between S Spokane Street and S Royal Brougham Way.
Starting Monday, June 7th, the contractor will begin paving at S Spokane St on the east side of the street and move north.
Planned nighttime work hours are 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Weather permitting, paving is scheduled to be completed on Saturday, June 12th.
Shortly after street paving is completed, crews will apply new traffic markings and street channelization.
A minimum of one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.
Nighttime parking and loading restrictions in and around the work zone will be posted. Additionally there will be short-term cross street and driveway restrictions.
From 6 p.m., Friday June 11th until 6 p.m. Saturday, June 12th crews will work near the I- 5 Airport Way S off-ramp. During this time, all vehicles exiting I-5 will be required to use the northbound Airport Way S off-ramp. A signed detour route will be posted directing southbound vehicles to take a left onto S Royal Brougham than a left onto Sixth Avenue South than a left onto S Holgate Street and a right on Airport Way.
Police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving.
This project is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation levy approved by Seattle voters.
