Spring Street will be closed between Fourth and Fifth avenues, and Seneca Street will be reduced to one lane between Fourth and Fifth this weekend for street paving. Local traffic and access to business will be maintained. Traffic will continue to flow north on Fourth Avenue with at least two lanes remaining open. These traffic restrictions will be in effect from 5 p.m. tonight (Friday March 5) until late Sunday evening, March 7.
A contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation will start working in the east side of the intersections of Fourth Avenue at Spring and Seneca streets. The contractor will replace concrete roadway panels and will work on curb ramps and sidewalks.
This paving work is part of the downtown paving program, funded in part by the Bridging the Gap transportation initiative approved by Seattle voters in 2006.
