Today, December 3, at 1:30 p.m. there will be a Memorial Service Procession for Seattle Fire Department Battalion Chief Dave Jacobs, Jr. Jacobs, awarded “Chief of the Year” in 2003, served for 26 years with the Seattle Fire Department before succumbing to cancer on November 8. The 40 – person procession honoring Chief Jacobs, will include fire fighters, five fire units and a bag pipe and drum band. There will be a rolling closure of streets as the procession moves south from Sixth Avenue and Battery Street to Bell Street; east on Bell to Ninth Avenue; north on Ninth to Republican Street; east on Republican to Terry Avenue; and finally north on Terry to the memorial site at the Lake Union Naval Reserve Center at 2:00 p.m.
