James Street will be closed at the west side of Fourth Avenue this weekend, from 6 p.m. Friday, December 4 until late Sunday evening, December 6 while SDOT’s contractor replaces concrete panels in the intersection. The following traffic restrictions will be in effect:
Traffic headed eastbound on James Street will be directed to turn on Third Avenue. Westbound traffic on James Street will be directed to turn on Fourth Avenue (one-way northbound) and will be detoured to Third Avenue to return to James Street.
Traffic on Fourth Avenue will not be able to turn west on James Street. Fourth Avenue will remain open to traffic although some lanes may be closed. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes.
The contractor will break and remove concrete panels on the west side of the intersection and will pour new panels in their place.
