Over the next two weekends, Ness Crane will be operating large cranes for work on various privately-owned buildings. For safety reasons, the work will require street and sidewalk closures.
This Saturday, November 14, from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, a crane will be operating on Fourth Avenue between James and Jefferson streets. During the work, only the curb lane on the eastern side of the street and the eastern sidewalk will be open.
This Sunday, November 15, Seventh Avenue will be closed to traffic from Pike to Union streets from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. The western sidewalk will be open during the crane operations.
The following weekend, Saturday, November 21, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., Eighth Avenue will be closed from Stewart to Virginia Street. The east sidewalk will be open for pedestrians. Traffic will be directed to Sixth Avenue, to Westlake Avenue, to Virginia Street, and back to Eighth.
Also on Saturday, November 21, from 3 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, Fifth Avenue will be closed from James to Jefferson streets. The eastern sidewalk will remain open. Motorists will follow a detour to Third Avenue, to Washington Street, to Fourth Avenue, to Jefferson Street to Fifth Avenue.
