First Starting Monday, October 12, westbound Spokane Street at First Avenue S will be closed to through traffic for the next two weeks between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. During the closure, Seattle City Light crews will be installing new conduit at S Spokane Street and First Avenue S in preparation for the Spokane Street Viaduct Widening project.
While the work is in progress, westbound traffic on Spokane Street will still be allowed onto the on-ramp to the West Seattle Bridge via the First Avenue S on-ramp, but will not be allowed to head west on lower Spokane Street. Local access to businesses between First Avenue S and East Marginal Way will be available via southbound Colorado Avenue S, from either Hinds or Horton streets.
