For one or two nights beginning September 10th, Stewart Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. between Westlake Avenue and First Avenue as construction crews grind and remove the top layer of existing asphalt pavement.
Cross streets along Stewart Street from Westlake Avenue to First Avenue will be closed periodically while the work is taking place. Police Officers and traffic flaggers will assist traffic.
For the next several weeks, starting right after Labor Day, SDOT’s contractor will work on pavement removal, base repair, concrete and asphalt paving, and pavement striping. The work should be completed before the end of September, weather permitting.
