SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will reduce eastbound I-90 to one lane near Rainier Avenue from Friday night to Saturday morning; and reduce westbound I-90 to one lane near Bellevue Way from Saturday night to Sunday morning. WSDOT will also close two lanes of southbound I-5 across the Ship Canal Bridge for pavement repair from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Mariners play at Safeco Field Wednesday through Sunday, with a 12:40 p.m. day game on Thursday. The Sounders play at CenturyLink Field on Sunday night.
FRIDAY, JUNE 2:
Fremont 5K & Briefcase Relay: Fun run begins and ends at Adobe Plaza, using N 34th St, N Pacific St, N 40th St and the Burke-Gilman Trail in the Fremont and Wallingford neighborhoods. Briefcase Relay begins at 6 p.m., 5K run and walk begins at 7 p.m. About 1,250 people are expected to participate.
HONK! Fest West – Georgetown: Grass roots music festival will close 12th Ave S between S Baily St and S Nebraska St from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, JUNE 3:
March for Truth Seattle: March from Cal Anderson Park to Seattle Center via Pine St and 4th Ave begins at 11 a.m. About 2,000 people are expected to attend.
Honk! Fest West – Occidental to the Waterfront: Music festival in Occidental Square followed by a marching band parade from Occidental Square to Waterfront Park via Western Ave. Festival starts at 12 p.m. and the parade starts at 4 p.m. About 750 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, JUNE 4:
Race for the Cure: Walk/run begins at 8 a.m. at Seattle Center. The route uses Mercer St, 5th Ave N, Cedar St, down 4th Ave and turns around at Seneca St to head back to Seattle Center. About 5,000 people are expected to participate.
Honk! Fest West – Columbia City: Music Festival on S Edmunds St and S Ferdinand St between 35th Ave S and 37th Ave S including the closure of 37th Ave S. The festival runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. About 1,800 people are expected to attend.
Wednesday, May 31, Mariners vs. Colorado Rockies at 7:10 p.m. About 18,000 people are expected to attend.
Thursday, June 1, Mariners vs. Colorado Rockies, day game at 12:40 p.m. About 27,000 people are expected to attend. SPD will close the southbound SR 99 exit to S Atlantic St for approximately one hour following the game.
Friday, June 2, Mariners vs. Tampa Bay Rays at 7:10 p.m. About 37,000 people are expected to attend.
Saturday, June 3, Mariners vs. Tampa Bay Rays at 7:10 p.m. About 42,000 people are expected to attend.
Sunday, June 4, Mariners vs. Tampa Bay Rays at 1:10 p.m. About 37,000 people are expected to attend.
Sunday, June 4, Sounders vs. Houston at 7 p.m. About 45,000 people are expected to attend.
