SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events in the city that may affect traffic. The Washington State Department of Transportation will close the Alaskan Way Viaduct SR99 for its semi-annual inspection. NB 99 will close Friday night to Monday morning, SB 99 will close all day Saturday and Sunday. Imagine Dragons are in concert at KeyArena Friday night. The Seattle Home Show runs Friday through Sunday at CenturyLink Field Event Center. The UW Huskies play at Husky Stadium on Saturday night.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6 – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8:
The Seattle Home Show at CenturyLink Field Event Center. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. About 7,000 people per day are expected to attend.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6:
Imagine Dragons Concert at KeyArena at 7:30 p.m. About 12,500 people are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7:
Global March for Elephants and Rhinos starts at Tilikum Park at 11 a.m. Route goes on 5th Ave to Westlake Park. About 150 are expected to participate.
UW Huskies vs California at Husky Stadium at 7:45 p.m. About 70,000 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8:
Double Tenth Flag Raising & Parade in Hing Hay Park from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a parade from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The parade starts at the park, heads east on King St, south on 8th Ave S, west on S Weller St, and north on 5th Ave S into the park. About 350 people are expected to attend.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 9:
Indigenous People’s Day Celebration March: Rally at 9:15 a.m. at Westlake Park followed by a march at 10:25 a.m. to City Hall via 5th Ave. About 200 people are expected to participate.
