SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events in the city that may affect traffic. The Deck the Hall Ball starts Tuesday afternoon into the evening at KeyArena. Pacific Northwest Ballet’s The Nutcracker has several performances at McCaw Hall Friday through Sunday. The Jingle Bell Run will close some downtown streets and the I-5 express lanes on Sunday morning.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 5:
107.7 The End’s Deck the Hall Ball at KeyArena from 3 p.m. to midnight. About 12,000 people are expected to attend.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 6:
State of Hawaii v. Donald Trump Rally: From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the sidewalk in front of the William Nakamura United States Courthouse, 1051 6th Ave. About 50 people are expected to participate.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8:
South Lake Union Winter Market: at Amazon’s Van Vorst Plaza, 426 Terry Ave N, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. About 800 people are expected to attend.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8 – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10:
PNB presents The Nutcracker at McCaw Hall with performances at 12 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. About 2,900 people are expected to attend each performance.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9:
SODO Flea: Holiday Market at 2901 1st Ave S and on S Forest St between 1st Ave S and Occidental Ave S from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. About 2,000 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10:
Jingle Bell Run starts at Westlake Park at 8 a.m. The route travels south on 5th Ave, enters the I-5 Express Lanes at Columbia St and heads north, U-turns to head south to exit at Pike St, heads west on 9th Ave, south on Pine St and finishes on 6th Ave and Pine. About 8,000 people are expected to participate.
