SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city that may affect area traffic. The Supercross is Saturday at CenturyLink Field. The Emerald City Ride on Sunday will have closures on northbound SR 99 from SODO through the city across the Aurora Bridge where the ride exits to Fremont, Wallingford, and the University District before heading south on the I-5 Express lanes to downtown surface streets where the ride ends in SODO.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4:
HAIM Concert: The concert starts at 8 p.m. at WaMu Theater, the doors open at 7 p.m. About 9,000 people are expected to attend.
SATURDAY, APRIL 7:
Supercross: There is a Pit Party in North Lot of CenturyLink Field from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The main event is at CenturyLink Field from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. About 40,000 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, APRIL 8:
Walk MS/Run MS : The annual fundraiser for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The run and walk will start and finish at University of Washington’s E-1 parking lot. The 5K Run begins at 8 a.m. The walk begins at 10 a.m. The run route will use the Burke-Gilman Trail. The walk will use streets and trails between the E-1 lot and Gas Works Park. About 4,000 are expected to participate.
Emerald City Ride: Rides will start and finish on S. Royal Brougham Way & E. Frontage Rd. S. (to the west of Pyramid Alehouse). The 12-mile loop will travel on to northbound SR 99 at S Royal Brougham across the Aurora Bridge into Fremont, through Wallingford to the University District where riders will travel southbound on the I-5 Express lanes at NE 47th and 7th Ave NE. Riders travel south to downtown, exiting at 5th and Cherry, and then ride south on 5th Ave through the International District back to the finish at Pyramid Alehouse. The rides start at 7 a.m. and all roads will reopen by 11:30 a.m. About 8,000 are expected to participate.
UPDATE: The following WSDOT work has been postponed and will be rescheduled due to weather.
WSDOT will close the northbound I-5 off-ramp to West Seattle Bridge/Spokane Street/Columbian Way this weekend.
