SDOT advises travelers that starting Tuesday, January 3, and lasting until mid-February 2017, the sidewalk on the eastside of 4th Ave S from just north of S Washington St to Jefferson St will be fully closed and nighttime construction activities will begin as part of the Yesler Bridge Rehabilitation Project.
From Tuesday, January 3 to mid-February, travelers can expect:
- The sidewalk to be closed on the eastside of 4th Ave S from 125 feet north of S Washington St to Jefferson St.
- Overnight closure (7 p.m. to 5 a.m.) of the right lane on 4th Ave S between S Washington and Jefferson streets.
- Intermittent construction noises generated by equipment between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
- Metro bus stop at 4th Ave S and S Washington St will remain open.
This work will improve the safety and reliability of Yesler Bridge while preserving its historical elements. SDOT appreciates the public’s patience while this work is being done.
