SDOT advises travelers of upcoming daytime construction, detours, and a partial closure of the East Yesler Way and 23rd Avenue intersection. The east side of the intersection will be closed from April 18 – 22 as crews complete paving work. Please see below for details.
From 7 a.m. on Monday, April 18, to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 22, travelers can expect the following:
• The east side of the East Yesler Way and 23rd Avenue intersection will be closed to traffic, but local access to destinations near the intersection will be provided.
o East Yesler Way will be open only for local access between Martin Luther King Jr Way and 23rd Avenue.
• Northbound and southbound traffic on 23rd Avenue will be maintained at all times.
• Detours around the intersection of East Yesler Way and 23rd Ave include:
o For westbound East Yesler Way traffic, drivers will take Martin Luther King Jr Way to South Jackson Street.
o For eastbound East Yesler Way traffic, drivers will take 23rd Avenue to South Jackson Street.
