Weekend traffic: Bumbershoot, PAX Expo and sports events, Aug. 29-Sept. 1

Cooler temperatures won’t likely keep Seattleites home this Labor Day weekend. The annual Bumbershoot festival will draw crowds to Seattle Center on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Gamers will be at the PAX Expo gamer convention at the Washington State Convention Center on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. There will be Mariners games at Safeco Field on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. To top it off, there is a Sounders game on Saturday afternoon at CenturyLink Field and on Monday morning, the NFL Kickoff Run 5K at CenturyLink Field.

To avoid traffic stress, let someone else do the driving and try public transit. You can sign up to receive email alerts when there is a change in service, usually due to a special event or construction. http://metro.kingcounty.gov/signup/
