Spokane Street Viaduct Nighttime Traffic Changes, May 7-10
The Spokane Street Viaduct Widening Project is now approaching 90% completion. The westbound lanes of the viaduct will be closed at SR 99 nightly from May 7 to May 10, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning. Traffic will be detoured using the Harbor Island off-ramp to reach the low level Spokane Street swing bridge. The eastbound off-ramp from the viaduct at Fourth Avenue will remain closed until May 22, at which time the eastbound off-ramp at First Avenue S will be closed for six to eight weeks.
Reconstruction of the surface street intersections under the viaduct has been completed, and all lanes of the intersection of East Marginal Way and S Spokane Street are now open. The two eastbound lanes on lower Spokane Street at Sixth Avenue are also open.
The contractor now expects to finish the viaduct project in early September.
