Reminder: Fauntleroy Expressway and Eastbound Spokane Street Viaduct Overnight Closures, February 6-10
Both the Fauntleroy Expressway (at the west end of the West Seattle Bridge) and the eastbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct (the structure that links the east end of the West Seattle Bridge to I-5) will be closed during the night next week as previously announced, February 6 through February 10, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
During the closures, westbound traffic on the West Seattle Bridge is directed to use the Delridge Way Southwest off-ramp.
Eastbound drivers on Fauntleroy Way Southwest will be detoured at Southwest Avalon Way and will be directed to the Southwest Spokane Street entrance to the West Seattle Bridge under the Fauntleroy Expressway, east of Avalon Way.
Once on the West Seattle Bridge, eastbound traffic will use either the First Avenue S off-ramp or the Fourth Avenue S off-ramp — one or the other of these off-ramps will remain open during each of these closures. Also, the ramp to northbound SR99 will remain open. On some nights the work will also require the closure of the lower eastbound roadway of surface Spokane Street. In such cases, motorists wishing to access the I-5 ramps or Columbian Way S will be detoured north to S Lander St, then east to Sixth Avenue S, south onto Sixth and then to S Spokane Street, where they can turn east onto the appropriate on-ramp.
The eastbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct will be closed each weekday night (Monday night through Friday night) through most of February. The Fauntleroy Expressway closures will occur regularly until the project’s completion in June 2012.
